  Had an appointment with Safelite to have my front windshield replaced. The day of the appointment, Safelite calls me and gives me some excuse as to why the installer can't make it. So I called Lightning Auto Glass and they fit me in within an hour of calling. Lightning Auto Glass was not only were cheaper than Safelite but they got the job done in 30 minutes. Windshield looks exactly like original windshield and installation and quality was top notch.

I got all of my car windows tinted but didn't opt for the UV protection film for the windshield at that time. However, I will be back due to the quick service, excellent prices and professional staff! My car looks amazing with the new tint!

  Safelite has done windshield repairs for me in the past, and it was always a nightmare. They break things and never do the work properly. When Can A Windshield Be Repaired vs Replaced?

How can we tell if your Land Rover windshield can be repaired instead of replaced completely? We look at two factors to make the decision.

Size of the Damage

The more damage there is to a windshield, the more likely it is to shatter while driving. We can quickly repair damage when it’s small and contained. Cracks shorter than 3 inches and rock chips smaller than the circumference of a quarter can be repaired. However, if damage is larger than mentioned above, a replacement windshield will likely be needed.

Location of the Damage

We can usually repair damage, if small enough, located toward the center of your Land Rover windshield. Cracks that are near the perimeter will spread more quickly and typically need to be replaced. With this being said, sometimes damage is located directly within the driver’s line of sight. We opt to replace the windshield in these cases. The reason is that the repair process leaves behind a minor distortion in the glass, which may impair the driver’s vision. We never seek to put our clients in harm’s way.
