  Had an appointment with Safelite to have my front windshield replaced. The day of the appointment, Safelite calls me and gives me some excuse as to why the installer can't make it. So I called Lightning Auto Glass and they fit me in within an hour of calling. Lightning Auto Glass was not only were cheaper than Safelite but they got the job done in 30 minutes. Windshield looks exactly like original windshield and installation and quality was top notch.

  I put off replacing my windshield because my insurer kept telling me they would not pay for OEM glass even though I did plenty of research and KNEW that non-OEM glass would not work with all the sensors and features on my Audi S7. A performance shop nearby recommended Lightning so I stopped in on a whim. They took my info, concurred I'd need OEM glass and said they could handle it no problem. Next thing I know, they had OEM glass approved. Once the glass arrived, I scheduled an appointment quickly and was in and out in under 3 hours, including calibration.   I have been driving around with the smallest crack on my windshield since March 20 & then the pandemic happened. Through the hot summer and cold winter that little chip turned into the longest crack. After calling all these major companies you see on the commercial quoted me $800+.   Had an appointment with Lightning auto glass this morning at 10:30a.m for a window repair to my driver side door and it was by far one of the best auto shops I've ever experienced in my 12 years of having vehicles, the receptionist Jessica was amazing, very polite, up on her knowledge, and very helpful! They seem to work pretty fast, i was in and out not a long wait like most auto places that keep you for hours. Its best to set an appointment. Their price and timing are on point!!

  They had to reschedule my appointment, but the technician was really nice and professional. The tint (back passenger window) matches perfectly to the factory and they even vacuumed out the broken glass from the previous window. I ended up going here instead of Safelite because the Lexus dealership I typically go to said they used this company for broken windows - and it was cheaper than Safelite.

  I should give a good review for this place. Tragically, some unlovable cretin broke my car window overnight. These folks were able to schedule me by early afternoon on the same day and fully replaced the window within about 20 minutes of arriving. Price was fake (less than $200) with no BS fees. So far, the replacement window is working with no issues. Great!

When Can A Windshield Be Repaired vs Replaced?

There are two factors that help us determine whether or not your windshield can be repaired, or will need to be replaced completely.

Size of the Damage

We can easily repair cracks that are shorter than 3 inches and rock chips that are smaller than the circumference of a quarter. When the damage is larger than that, a replacement windshield is often necessary.

Location of the Damage

Our biggest concern is driver safety. When auto glass damage is located toward the perimeter of your windshield, it is more likely to spread throughout the glass. This will weaken your windshield’s structural integrity and put the driver at an increased risk. We usually replace windshields with perimeter damage for this reason. If the damage to your Kia’s windshield is located toward the center, and small enough, we can look into making a quick repair.

There are times where damage is located in the center of the windshield, and small enough, but directly within the driver’s line of sight. We will elect to replace the windshield if this is the case. The repair process leaves behind a minor distortion in the glass, and Lightning Auto Glass never seeks to put the driver in harm’s way with our service.
